A type of financial software used by financial institutions for high-speed market data and messaging. Wombat was launched in 1997 and works with companies' existing software. Wombat was acquired in 2008 by NYSE Euronext, a company that manages stock exchanges in six countries. It is part of NYSE Technologies, the company's commercial technology division. Wombat includes among its clients the world's largest financial institutions and has offices in the United States, United Kingdom and Japan. The Wombat Market Data Platform consists of Wombat Feed Handles, DART Entitlements and Wombat Acumen.
