A combination of the words "globalization" and "localization" used to describe a product or service that is developed and distributed globally, but is also fashioned to accommodate the user or consumer in a local market. This means that the product or service may be tailored to conform with local laws, customs or consumer preferences. Products or services that are effectively "glocalized" are, by definition, going to be of much greater interest to the end user. Yahoo! is an example of a company that practices glocalization. It markets a portal that is viewed worldwide and offers different versions of its website (and related services) for different users. For example, it provides content and language variations in some 25 countries including China, Russia and Canada. It also customizes content to appeal to individuals in those locations. A number of both public and private companies currently practice glocalization in an effort to build their customer bases and grow revenues.

The differences found between members of different generations. More specifically, a generation gap can be used to describe the differences in actions, beliefs, tastes, etc. between members of younger generations when compared to members of older generations. While generation gaps have been prevalent throughout all periods of history, the width (differences) of these gaps have widened in the 20th and 21st centuries. Generation gaps play a big role in business, as companies must find a way to balance the needs and views of individuals from differing age groups (not to mention diferents sexes, races and cultures). Also, these businesses must be aware of the changing demographics of their client base, as gender gaps can have drastic effects on not only their business but the overall business cycle as well.
The electronic filing system created by the Securities and Exchange Commission for the purpose of increasing efficiency and accessibility to corporate filings. This system is used by all publicly traded companies when submitting required documents to the SEC. Corporate documents are time sensitive, and the creation of EDGAR has greatly decreased the time it takes for corporate documents to become publicly available. |||Corporate documents filed with the SEC through EDGAR include annual and quarterly statements, information regarding the holdings of institutional investors and many other forms. These filings include some of the most important information used by investors and analysts.A significant drawback of this system is that the filings are highly stripped down and often difficult to read compared to annual reports received by shareholders. All the information is there, but in what is essentially one giant text file. All of the filings made through EDGAR are available to download or view for free.
An aggressive type of mutual fund that aims to deliver superior returns by balancing bullish stock picks with bearish ones. They can also generate income from the interest proceeds of the sales of short securities. The objective of these funds is to generate consistent returns that are at least three to six percent above the T-bill rate. These funds can also offer returns similar to leveraged ETFs which aim to deliver 200-300% returns on any given investment. Market neutral funds are fairly complex products. They are also probably not appropriate for novice or conservative investors. These funds endeavor to offer a type of investing strategy that has been found chiefly in hedge funds and separately managed accounts. Market neutral funds tend to have fairly high fees as well as turnover, and investors should consider both these issues before investing.
The rate at which the delta of an option or warrant will change over time. Charm refers to the second order derivative of an option's value - once to time and once to the price. It is also the derivative of theta, which measures the time decay of an option's value. This value decreases as the option approaches maturity. Charm is used by investors who employ a delta-hedging option trading strategy, and provides the investor with information on the delta of an option on a per-year basis. As the number of days left on the options contract gets smaller and smaller, charm becomes more volatile and less accurate.
